We get about this thrilling and mysterious incident from a young man named Nathan Rifat. Nathan is currently studying at a well-known college in Boston. During the 2026 US National Election, he visited his hometown in a remote county in Maine with his family. There, he heard this strange story from his cousin, Thomas. The entire incident took place in late 2025, and the person it happened to was Rebecca.

Rebecca’s house was just a few blocks away from Nathan’s family home. Rebecca’s mother, Theresa, is a widow; her husband passed away several years ago. Theresa has two daughters—the older one is married, and the younger one, Rebecca, is a sophomore in high school (Grade 10). Theresa’s ancestral home was near the Canadian border, in a very remote and densely forested area of Northern Maine. The surroundings were enveloped in thick pine forests, heavy fog, and a deep, primitive silence.

The Cursed Evening in the Woods

A few days before the incident, Theresa had taken Rebecca to visit her grandfather's secluded cabin in those woods. Being a new place surrounded by a mysterious wild environment, Rebecca went out for a walk along a forest trail one afternoon. She returned to the cabin just before dusk, but right after coming back, she began to experience a severe headache and extreme exhaustion. A strange weakness took over her. Theresa thought it was just regular fatigue and gave her some painkillers. Two days later, they returned to their town.

However, upon returning to the town, Rebecca started behaving very abnormally. She would sit completely still in a corner of the room for hours with her eyes closed, just like someone deep in ancient meditation.

Sometimes, she would mutter softly in a language that did not belong to this world. However, unlike the typical demonic possessions seen in horror movies, she didn't scream, tear her hair out, or break things. Her calm yet spine-chilling transformation made Theresa realize that an invisible force had taken over her daughter.

The Mystery of the Supernatural Fruits

After a few days of this, Rebecca suddenly walked up to her mother with two fresh oranges in her hands. In a cold voice, she said, "Here you go, Mom, I brought these for you."

Theresa was completely shocked! Where could Rebecca find fresh oranges inside the house in the dead of winter? Rebecca ate one herself and gave the other to Theresa. When Theresa tasted it, it wasn't some otherworldly flavor; it tasted just like a normal, delicious orange bought from a supermarket.

The next day, Rebecca brought a bunch of fresh grapes. Day after day, she kept presenting different kinds of fruits. The family became convinced that Rebecca was possessed by a wild, primitive spirit (locally referred to as a forest elemental or jinn), but they seemed harmless.

Gradually, news of this miraculous event spread among the neighbors. One day, Rebecca's cousins, Kevin and Ryan, couldn't contain their curiosity and came over. Challenging her, they said, "Hey Rebecca, can you get us something to eat? We want apples."

Rebecca didn't say a word. She stepped out of the house, took a quick lap around the dark backyard, and returned within a minute. Miraculously, she held two bright red apples in her hands! They both ate the apples—the taste was just like ordinary, sweet apples. Seeing this, Kevin and Ryan's friends, Tyler and Dylan, also came with the same request, and Rebecca brought them fruits in the exact same way.

The Darkness Deepens and the Secret Unveils

Upon hearing this strange news, Nathan’s cousin Thomas also went to see Rebecca one day. But what Thomas saw there made his heart sink. Rebecca was no longer the same. Her face was completely pale, her eyes were sunken, and her lips had turned white. It looked as if someone had sucked every drop of blood out of her body!

When Thomas asked for fruit, Rebecca said in a very weak voice, "I can't do it today... I feel very sick, I am so weak." Thomas realized the girl was on the verge of collapsing. He didn't say anything more and left.

Theresa knew that if she didn't take drastic measures soon, she would lose her daughter. However, she didn't have the financial means to afford a good spiritual medium or exorcist. Meanwhile, Rebecca’s older sister, Megan, rushed home after hearing the news. She found Rebecca in a deep, semi-conscious trance, making strange groaning sounds.

Megan gathered her courage, went very close to Rebecca, and demanded, "Who are you? Leave my sister's body!"

Then, a deep, echoing, and multi-layered voice came out of Rebecca's mouth:

"We are ten... six brothers and four sisters. Deep in the forest, an evil black magician has imprisoned our mother. We are trying our best to free her. But this girl mistakenly picked up an ancient, sacred stone from the forest. The moment she touched that stone, our power became connected to her. Because the stone was displaced, we have suffered great damage as well. We didn't come to harm her, but the connection to the stone is draining her life force. If the stone is returned to its exact original place, she will be freed."

When Rebecca returned to normal, she admitted that she had indeed found a strange, smooth black stone on the forest trail and brought it back in her jacket pocket because she liked it.

The Ultimate Pact in the Woods

Theresa then sought the help of an old, experienced church priest or spiritual practitioner in the area who dealt with such supernatural forces. After investigating through his spiritual insights, he confirmed that the spirits' story was 100% true. Those ten siblings were actually good spirits of the ancient forest. But they were young, and the dark witch who had imprisoned their mother was extremely powerful. Therefore, the stone needed to be returned immediately. However, the priest refused to go there himself.

That’s when a brave, elderly gentleman from the neighborhood, mister Clark, stepped forward to save Rebecca's life. Taking detailed directions from Rebecca, he went deep into the dense, foggy Maine woods in the middle of the day.

As soon as Mr. Clark placed the stone back on the ground, the surrounding pine trees began to sway violently in a sudden gust of wind. From the depths of the forest, a deep, booming supernatural voice called out Clark’s name: "Clark! How are you?"

Though terrified, Clark composed himself and replied, "I am fine. I have brought the stone back."

The invisible voice from the other side said, "Because a human touched it, the primitive power of this stone has been ruined. We cannot fix it ourselves. You humans have to do it. Go and bring water from seven seas and thirteen rivers, only then will the stone's power return!"

Clark was astonished and said, "This isn't a fairy tale! It's impossible for a human to bring water from seven seas and thirteen rivers. We only have a lake and some small streams in this area. Tell us another way instead of asking for the impossible."

The dense forest went completely silent for a moment. The wind stopped. Then the voice came again, "Fine, what's done is done. You must give an offering. Leave 5 kilograms of pure maple sugar candy (a traditional American sweet) here for us."

Clark then explained Theresa’s helpless situation, saying, "The girl's father is no longer alive, and the family is very poor. They cannot afford to buy 5 kilograms of expensive candy right now."

The invisible spirits remained quiet for a while and then said, "Bakery... just leave whatever you can afford."

Mr. Clark then bought one kilogram of maple candy with his own money, placed it next to the stone, and quickly left the area.

The Final Liberation

The moment Mr. Clark finally stepped out of the woods, Rebecca, who was lying in bed at home, let out a deep sigh and opened her eyes. She hugged her mother and said she felt as if a heavy weight of hundreds of pounds had been lifted from her body!

Slowly, Rebecca completely recovered. The paleness faded, and a healthy color returned to her face. After that, the supernatural phenomenon of her manifesting fruits stopped forever. The spiritual practitioner later mentioned that those spirits were truly benevolent; they could have caused severe harm to Rebecca if they wanted to, but they didn't. True to their word, they peacefully returned to the depths of the forest. Rebecca is now perfectly healthy and living a normal life.
